BushTime at Mabula, a proudly South African timeshare lodge nestled in the heart of Limpopo, is seeking a hands-on and detail-driven Financial Manager to join its dedicated team. Known for delivering authentic bush experiences with warm hospitality, BushTime blends rustic charm with operational excellence.

The successful candidate will be based out of the Johannesburg support office, overseeing the full spectrum of financial operations across the company. Responsibilities include accurate reporting, budget control, procurement oversight, payroll administration, and compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements. You'll play a key role in strategic planning and cost management initiatives, contributing to the company's long-term sustainability and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain precise and organized financial records, recording and categorizing financial transactions including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities with strong attention to detail and proficiency in accounting software.
  • Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management, investors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: collaborate with management to create budgets, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
  • Tax Compliance: ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, calculate and prepare tax returns, and stay updated on changing tax laws to minimize liabilities within the law.
  • Auditing: evaluate internal controls and processes for accuracy and fairness; manage external auditors and ensure audited financial statements are compiled to company standards.
  • Financial Analysis: analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities, providing insights for investments, cost reductions, and revenue enhancement.
  • Risk Management: identify and assess financial risks related to investments, debt, and other activities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Communication: communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and collaborate with other departments, management, and external partners to achieve objectives.
Requirements
  • Matric Certificate minimum - tertiary degree/diploma in Finance preferred
  • 2 to 4 years minimum experience in a senior financial role, preferably in luxury hospitality or timeshare environments, with a solid track record
  • Experience as Financial Manager supervising a finance team; self-driven with minimal need for supervision; commercially astute with strong leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, financial literacy, effective communication, leadership, and ability to manage budgets and costs while understanding industry-specific regulations and compliance
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite with Advanced Level Excel
  • Proficiency in SAGE ONE or similar accounting software
  • Good working knowledge of CIMSO system - plus
  • Proficiency in Sage Payroll Professional or PaySpace would be beneficial
