Job Description

We are recruiting a Finance Manager to be based in Denver, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the finance team. Main duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Responsible for preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure full compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements NACAAM, STATSA etc.), and company policies.
  • Ensure tax submissions (VAT, Income Tax, Customs Duty, etc.) are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Responsible for the general ledger and all reconciliations
  • Responsible for Intercompany transactions
Financial Governance
  • Manage external audits and act as the primary contact for auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain and responsible for a robust internal control environment and ensure adherence to governance standards.
  • Maintain Risk and Control Matrix's and updated Standard Chart of Accounts.
CAPEX management
  • Oversee the annual CAPEX budget process.
  • Manage and monitor CAPEX spend vs. budget.
Team Management & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and finance clerks.
  • Set performance goals, conduct appraisals, and ensure skills development and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Cash Flow, Working Capital & Treasury
  • Assist with daily cash flow, liquidity forecasting, and short term financing requirements.
  • Assist with Optimisation of working capital through effective control of inventory, receivables, and payables.
Operational & Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, and Commercial teams to drive aligned decision making
Experience
  • CA (SA) / BCom Finance or equivalent
  • 5 - 7 years' experience in financial management within a manufacturing & retail environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting.
  • Background in costing, BOM management, and manufacturing finance processes - advantageous.
  • Experience leading teams and working cross functionally with operations.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (JDE - advantageous).
  • High proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing & retail environment.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision making abilities
