A well-established private game lodge is seeking a passionate and professional Field Guide to join its dynamic hospitality team. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic conservation ambassador who thrives in a wilderness environment and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through immersive and educational safari activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct interpretive game drives and bush walks in a safe, engaging, and professional manner
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences aligned with lodge standards
- Share in-depth knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation practices
- Lodge Manintenance
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and reserve regulations
- Maintain and care for safari vehicles and guiding equipment
- Assist with reserve conservation initiatives where required
- Support lodge operations and collaborate with the broader hospitality team
- Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively address queries
- Nature Site Guide qualification (NQF Level 2 or higher)
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Registered with relevant guiding authority
- Rifle competency (where required)
- Previous guiding experience in a Big Five environment preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong bush knowledge and passion for conservation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
