Factory Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Factory Technician. The role involves providing technical support and maintenance services in the production department, ensuring efficient operation of machinery and equipment to meet production targets and quality standards.

• Assembly and Production - Participate in the assembly and production of sockets and plugs, operate machinery, and ensure products are assembled correctly and efficiently.
• Quality Control Inspection - Conduct visual, measurement, and functional testing on finished products to verify they meet company quality standards and specifications.
• Maintenance and Repair - Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs on machinery to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting - Identify and diagnose technical issues during production, such as equipment malfunctions or assembly errors, and resolve them quickly to minimize downtime.
• Inventory Management - Monitor raw material and component levels, replenish supplies, and report discrepancies or shortages to ensure adequate production resources.
• Safety Compliance - Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and report hazards or incidents to maintain a safe working environment.
• Documentation and Reporting - Keep accurate records of production activities, quality inspections, maintenance tasks, and inventory levels, and prepare production reports.

• Equipment Setup and Configuration - Decide on machinery setup, tooling, fixtures, and settings to ensure efficient and accurate assembly.
• Quality Control Criteria - Determine tolerances, specifications, and acceptance criteria for quality inspections.
• Maintenance Scheduling - Plan routine maintenance schedules based on usage, production demands, and equipment specifications.
• Resource Allocation - Allocate manpower, materials, and machinery to optimize output and reduce downtime.
• Problem Solving Approaches - Select strategies to address technical challenges, evaluate alternatives, and implement corrective actions.
• Process Improvement Initiatives - Identify and propose changes to equipment, procedures, or workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Safety Protocols and Procedures - Make decisions on safety regulations, training programs, and incident responses.

• Technical Proficiency - Understand electrical and mechanical systems, socket/plug designs, wiring configurations, and machine operation.
• Problem Solving Skills - Diagnose root causes of production issues and implement effective solutions.
• Attention to Detail - Ensure precision and accuracy in assembly and quality checks.
• Mechanical Aptitude - Maintain knowledge of mechanical systems and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Adaptability - Adjust to evolving production schedules and priorities.
• Teamwork and Communication - Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
• Safety Compliance - Prioritize safety, adhere to protocols, use PPE correctly, and report hazards promptly.

• Education: N3 Certificate in Mechanical or related trade (trade papers are an advantage).
• Experience: 2+ years in a manufacturing or mechanical environment, preferably with moulding and crimping machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient use of hand tools and measuring instruments (callipers, micrometres, dial indicators, etc.).
• Basic fault finding and critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Factory floor based role.
• Exposure to machinery, noise, and production equipment.
