Factory Manager (Signage and Shopfitting) (JB5992)

Location: Kya Sands, Gauteng; Salary: R to R.00 a month CTC; Employment: Permanent.

This role oversees all operational functions within a busy production environment, managing multiple technical departments to ensure projects progress accurately, efficiently, and within required deadlines. The position requires strong leadership, structured coordination, and hands-on problem-solving to maintain workflow, uphold quality and safety standards, and support department heads in achieving productivity and operational goals across the factory.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Own reliable vehicle with valid license.
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory or management experience in manufacturing, signage, or shopfitting.
  • Technical trade background and/or project management qualification (preferred).
  • Proven track record managing production teams and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret job cards, drawings, and client briefs.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, and coordination abilities.
  • Hands on problem solving approach with proactive decision making.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Excel and job tracking systems.
  • Understanding of materials, fabrication, and quality standards.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting production priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations across Carpentry, Spray Painting, Welding, Electrical, and Vinyl Application departments.
  • Liaise with Department Heads to ensure progress aligns with quality standards and timelines.
  • Ensure correct distribution and execution of job cards.
  • Coordinate with procurement and stock teams to ensure materials are available before production begins.
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Track production schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain communication flow between factory floor and management with regular updates.
  • Uphold safety, housekeeping, and workspace organization standards.
  • Support and motivate teams to achieve productivity and quality goals.
  • Manage overtime and weekend work schedules if required.
  • Assist with production planning, cost control, and workflow optimization.
