Exploration Manager
Job Description
Reporting to the VP, Exploration, The Exploration Manager is the accountable owner for one or more assets and exploration sites, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of exploration programs and advancement plans.
This role leads site-based exploration activities, with a strong focus on safe and efficient drilling execution, high-quality geological interpretation, disciplined data management and clear reporting to head office.
In a public, growth-stage exploration company environment, the Exploration Manager plays a critical role in building project-level value through discovery, rapid learning and well-supported advancement recommendations.
Qualification:Bachelor's or master's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
Minimum Requirements:- 12 to 20+ years' experience in exploration geology with demonstrated site leadership.
- Proven experience managing and executing drilling programs and supervising drilling and exploration contractors.
- Strong gold-copper exploration background, including:
- Porphyry and epithermal systems.
- Designing, executing and refining drill programs.
- Advancing targets through staged exploration.
- Experience working in remote or developing jurisdictions preferred.
- Experience in Papua New Guinea or similar operating environments is highly regarded.
- Comfortably operating in a public company exploration environment with a strong delivery and results focus.
- Willing and able to work on expatriate rotations or long-term in-country postings.
