Job Description

We're looking for an Experiential Marketing Specialist to support the development and delivery of on the ground brand experiences across Sub Saharan Africa.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Experiential Marketing Manager to bring Spotify to life through culturally relevant, community led activations and events. This includes live experiences across music and podcasts, as well as partnerships, sponsorships, and creator led moments.

You bring a strong understanding of local cultures and communities, and you know how to turn those insights into experiences that feel meaningful and authentic. You're comfortable balancing planning and execution, and you take care to ensure each activation is delivered thoughtfully, with attention to detail and cultural context.

What You'll Do
  • Support the development and execution of experiential marketing campaigns across Sub Saharan Africa, bringing Spotify's brand to life in culturally relevant ways
  • Contribute local cultural insights to shape activations that connect authentically with communities, creators, and audiences
  • Help identify key cultural moments, partnerships, and opportunities across the region
  • Assist in planning and delivering events end to end, from briefing through execution and post event reporting
  • Maintain timelines, trackers, budgets, and project documentation to keep initiatives running smoothly
  • Collaborate with internal teams, agencies, and production partners to deliver high quality experiences
  • Support on the ground execution, including setup, logistics, scheduling, and coordination during live events
  • Manage event assets, merchandise, and inventory to ensure readiness across activations
Who You Are
  • You have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in experiential marketing, events, or cultural marketing within Sub Saharan Africa
  • You have a strong understanding of local cultures, communities, and emerging scenes across the region
  • You know how to translate cultural insight into meaningful, audience first experiences
  • You are comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and navigating evolving priorities
  • You are hands on and detail oriented, with the ability to balance planning and execution
  • You have experience supporting end to end activations, including live and content led experiences
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams and partners
  • You care deeply about culture, community, and creating impactful live experiences
Where You'll Be
  • This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
