Events Manager
Job Description
Next-Level Events Need Next-Level Talent.
We're Hiring a Mid-Level Events Manager.
Before you applyAsk yourself honestly:
- Have you personally delivered live conferences, corporate launches, gala dinners, awards ceremonies, and year-end events - from brief to breakdown - especially for corporate clients?
- Have you owned a project budget - not just tracked it, but built it, managed it, and reconciled it?
- Do you have 5+ years in live event delivery - not marketing, not activations/promotions?
If you answered yes to all three, keep reading. If not, this role isn't the right fit and your application will not be considered.
NB: Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be opened. If you are unable to provide one at this stage, please do not apply.
About usWith over 20 years of experience delivering live, hybrid, and virtual events and experiential projects, we don't simply execute briefs - we design moments that are considered, unexpected, and impactful. This is where strategy, creativity, and precision meet.
Our approach is called Formula X. It's more than a strategy - it's our culture: a guiding philosophy grounded in deep ownership, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and a drive to innovate. It defines how we think, how we work, and how we perform. Every project is an opportunity to refine our thinking, strengthen our output, and elevate how we show up for our clients and for each other.
The roleWe're looking for an experienced mid-level Events Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is not a support or coordination role. It requires someone who has already done this - repeatedly, under pressure, across multiple concurrent projects - and is ready to perform at the highest standard.
You'll own projects end-to-end - from initial brief through to on-site delivery and post-event reconciliation. You'll lead support teams, manage client relationships, drive budgets, and be accountable for the quality of every deliverable of a project assigned to you.
Non-negotiablesThese are the baseline requirements. If you cannot demonstrate all of the following, please do not apply.
Experience and delivery- Minimum 5 years of proven, hands on experience delivering live, hybrid, and virtual events - conferences, launches, award ceremonies, roadshows, and year-ends. Experience in marketing, activations/promotions, or project management in non event industries will not be considered.
- Demonstrated end to end project ownership: from translating a client brief into an executable plan, through to on site delivery and post event evaluation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, each with its own scope, timeline, budget, and client - without compromising on quality, detail, or delivery.
- Ability to set, continuously update, and reconcile project budgets. This means building the finance sheet, negotiating supplier pricing, monitoring spend and margin, and signing off on costs - not just tracking numbers someone else built.
- Experience managing client-side financial admin: issuing invoices, chasing purchase orders, and following up on outstanding payments.
- Comfortable working in alignment with a financial administrator, providing accurate and current data throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proven track record as the primary client contact: building relationships, managing expectations, aligning delivery to brand needs, and identifying opportunities to add value.
- Strong supplier management: briefing, negotiating, holding partners accountable, and upholding standards of quality and cost effectiveness.
- Acts as the central communication hub across clients, suppliers, internal teams, and finance - ensuring transparency and alignment at every stage.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct project coordinators, freelancers, and on site teams through structured delegation and clear accountability.
- Comfortable providing mentorship, real time problem solving, and performance feedback within a project context.
- Confident overseeing all logistical elements from planning to implementation - milestones, resource allocation, venue coordination, supplier briefing, and on site execution.
- Required to attend events as the senior decision-maker on the ground: overseeing setup, supplier performance, client experience, and overall execution.
- Microsoft Office Suite and OneDrive / SharePoint - 100% proficiency.
- AI tools and applications - comfortable adopting and integrating into daily workflow.
- Magnetic - familiarity is advantageous.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication across client, partner, and internal contexts.
- Strategic and decisive, yet adaptable. Able to balance creative vision with logistical precision and financial accountability.
- Naturally solutions focused and calm under pressure, with the resilience to manage shifting scopes, tight deadlines, and evolving priorities without losing composure or quality.
- Strong sense of accountability, professionalism, and reliability. You take ownership of outcomes, of errors, and of standards.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- A valid driver's licence and own reliable transport are essential.
Full time, office based role with regular on site work at venues for recce visits, set up days, and event days. Our offices are based in the Rosebank business hub.
Office hoursMonday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00. Flexibility required based on project and event schedules.
What we offer- Competitive salary, based on experience.
- 21 days of annual leave, plus public holidays.
- Additional leave during the December / Christmas break.
- A modern, professional, and progressive work environment.
- Exposure to industry leading projects, clients, and delivery processes.
- A team culture that values accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
