Position: Estimator

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering all aspects from labor to materials and overhead.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and proposals to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of bid documents and design plans to ensure comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather relevant data and assess project scope.
  • Research and source materials, subcontractors, and pricing to support estimates.
  • Maintain organized documentation of estimates and ensure records are up-to-date.
  • Participate in project meetings to present estimates and discuss potential cost-saving measures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate calculations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
