Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, this role will play a key part in leading electrical design initiatives, managing project budgets, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring successful delivery within scope, cost, and schedule. If you are technically strong, commercially aware, and enjoy leading projects from concept through to commissioning, this opportunity offers both challenge and growth. What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in water treatment plants
  • Develop and review detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system layouts
  • Design, implement, and optimize electrical automation, control, and instrumentation systems
  • Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution analysis, and system simulations
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams
  • Manage project budgets for electrical equipment and materials in line with approved proposals
  • Conduct troubleshooting, fault analysis, and technical problem-solving on-site and remotely
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, safe operating procedures, and manuals
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, statutory regulations, and safety requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, process, operations) to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Support commissioning, testing, and handover of electrical systems, including underground work where required
  • Attend client meetings, present technical input, and provide project updates
  • Participate in plant optimization, predictive maintenance planning, and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with SHEQ Integrated Management Systems (IMS)

What You'll Need

  • BEng / BTech / BSc Electrical / Electrical & Electronic Engineering (completed)
  • 4 - 8 years' proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within mining, water treatment, or OEM environments
  • Strong experience with electrical design, automation, control, and instrumentation systems
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant engineering design software)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership ability
  • Commercial awareness with budget management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Own vehicle and valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel and work underground when required
  • South African citizen with valid SA ID
