Electrical/Electronic Engineer
Job PurposeOur client is seeking a professional Electrical/Electronic Engineer to provide both on site and remote technical support to clients operating primarily within gold, silver, and uranium mining operations worldwide. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, supporting system performance and optimisation, and ensuring reliable operation of deployed solutions. It also requires maintaining strong client relationships and delivering responsive, high quality support in demanding and remote mining environments.
Requirements- 5-8 years' experience (typically aged 27-35)
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Good understanding of digital and analog electronics
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlinesStrong PC literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Valid, non restricted driver's licence
- Valid South African passport
- Hands on experience setting up and servicing instrumentation equipment
- Experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems
- Exposure to PLC programming or other software development environments
- Understanding of industrial communication networks and protocols
- Previous commissioning or field service experience (preferably on mine sites)
- Understanding of statistical concepts
- Knowledge of control systems and process control principles
- Familiarity with pumps and variable speed drives
- Understanding of gold leaching processes (advantageous, not essential)
- Role requires extensive local and international travel
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate in Johannesburg, South Africa at the commencement of employment.
