Job Description
Qualifying Criteria:
- Grade 10, 11, 12, or equivalent qualification
- N2 in Engineering studies in Electrical will be advantageous
- 1-2 years' experience in Electrical Engineering in a mining or industrialized environment is essential and required
- Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
- Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces
- The applicant must possess good verbal communication skills
- Studying towards an Electrical Engineering Trade will be an added advantage
- South African Citizenship
- Clear Criminal Record
Responsibilities:
- Work a cycle or rotation of shifts
- Assist Artisan(s) in carrying out their duties efficiently by providing support and carrying the toolbox, hand tools and other equipment
- Maintain tools and equipment and safely keep hand tools
- Able to disassemble and re-assemble electrical apparatus / components and equipment using hand tools
- Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets using hand tools
- Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools
- Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices
- Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1's safety motto: "Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely."
