Cape Union Mart Group
South African Rand . ZAR 200,000 - 300,000

Job Description

We're looking for a detail-driven, highly organised eCommerce Product Coordinator to join our retail business and take responsibility for ensuring that products are accurately and efficiently loaded and maintained on our website.

This is not a marketing or social media role - it's a pivotal operations role at the heart of our digital product lifecycle. You'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of product data, imagery, categorisation and promotions to ensure everything is live, accurate & ready to sell online.

The role requires a structured and methodical mindset, strong project coordination skills, and the confidence to work with multiple stakeholders - including senior leaders - to keep everything on track.

Key Duties

  • Coordinate the product onboarding process - ensuring product data, images, descriptions, pricing and stock statuses are provided, tracked & completed on time.
  • Maintain and update the website's product catalogue and category structure for accuracy, consistency and optimal customer experience.
  • Manage site promotions, product launches and content updates in line with trade plans and marketing calendars.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to missing or incorrect product data & resolve blockers in the publishing process.
  • Liaise closely with internal teams such as Merchandise, Marketing & Photography Studio to ensure all product information is aligned and deadlines are met.
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure accuracy of live content across the site.
  • Supply accurate product lists for marketing campaigns and ensure promotional products are correctly set up.
  • Support eCommerce team with general site operations and ad hoc initiatives.
About You
  • You have excellent organisational skills and thrive on keeping projects and people on track.
  • You're structured, detail-oriented & take ownership of your work.
  • You can manage multiple moving parts across different teams without losing sight of deadlines or quality.
  • You're confident and professional when working with senior stakeholders.
  • You're comfortable working with systems, spreadsheets & product data - and you don't mind chasing people to get what you need.
  • You're a problem-solver who enjoys troubleshooting and fixing issues.
What You'll Need
  • At least 2-5 years experience in an eCommerce, retail operations, or simliar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working with large datasets (eg. product lists, attributes, pricing).
  • Experience working with eCommerce platforms (eg. Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
  • Project coordination or process management experience is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with website QA, merchandising, or catalogue management is a plus.
Why Join Us?

You'll be part of a growing team in a successful retail business, where your coordination and attention to detail will directly impact our ability to trade online. If you're someone who enjoys structure, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and knows how to manage stakeholders to get the job done, we'd love to hear from you.
