OverviewSeeking an experienced Draughtsperson to support the delivery of high-quality electrical and multidisciplinary designs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You'll play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into clear, compliant, and installation-ready drawings.
Key Responsibilities- Produce accurate and professional electrical drawings, including schematics, chassis layouts, general arrangement drawings, and P&IDs.
- Implement project-specific design requirements in line with engineering specifications and safety standards.
- Ensure all drawings comply with PCI Africa drafting and quality standards.
- Maintain and manage drawing data within Autodesk Vault to support efficient 3D layouts and equipment design.
- Interface with electrical, mechanical, and process engineering disciplines to ensure functional and coordinated designs.
- Support the mechanical draughting team where required.
- Assist engineers by developing a clear understanding of project scope and technical requirements.
- Identify potential technical or installation risks and highlight these to the project team.
- Protect and maintain organizational drawing and design knowledge.
- Actively contribute to team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Support and follow ISO 9001:2015 processes and internal quality procedures.
- Draughting Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' practical draughting experience in the water or wastewater industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk software packages, including Inventor.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and consistency.
- Good understanding of electrical design principles and installation requirements.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
