St Benedict's is an Independent Catholic School, which seeks to provide a holistic education for boys through full participation in spiritual, academic, sporting, creative and cultural activities. The Board of Governors invites applications for the following post in the College.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Dramatic Arts or a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- Have at least 2 years' experience teaching juniors (Grade 8&9) and ability to teach FET phase vocal and performance techniques
- Possess an understanding of the techniques of Laban; Stanislavski; Grotowski; and other styles specific to a South African context
- Be able to assist with directing, workshopping and devising productions
- Be prepared to be part of extra curricular drama programme, which involves three seasons per year: Major Production; FEDA and One Act Plays
- Provide assistance, guidance and supervision to learners during the afternoon/evening extra cultural dramatic arts programme
- Ability to work well as part of a team and perform under pressure, often involving evening and weekend rehearsals
- Willingness to travel to the Grahamstown Festival over mid term with learners
- Ability to prepare boys for practical assessment at the end of each term
- Be Professionally SACE Registered
- Be willing to participate in the Catholic Ethos of the School
