This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of E-Commerce (Derm Brand) in South Africa.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and scale a fast-growing, clinically driven skincare brand's direct-to-consumer business. As the strategic owner of the e-commerce P&L, you will drive revenue growth, optimize the online customer experience, and maximize lifetime value. You will oversee the entire digital storefront, including site merchandising, CRO initiatives, subscription programs, and product launches, while aligning cross-functional teams to execute high-impact strategies. The ideal candidate is a data driven leader with deep DTC experience, capable of balancing clinical education with performance optimization. This position provides high visibility, hands on leadership, and the chance to shape the digital strategy of a premium skincare brand at scale.

Accountabilities
  • Own and scale the DTC e-commerce business, driving revenue, conversion, average order value (AOV), and customer lifetime value (LTV).
  • Develop and execute growth strategies aligned with brand objectives, forecasting performance, and managing the e-commerce P&L.
  • Lead site experience optimization, including homepage, product pages, checkout flow, and subscription programs, leveraging CRO and analytics.
  • Drive onsite merchandising strategy, product hierarchy, bundles, promotions, and new product launches in partnership with marketing and product teams.
  • Serve as a cross functional leader, connecting Growth, Creative, Product, Operations, and Customer Support to execute initiatives that maximize conversion and retention.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high performing e commerce team, alongside external partners and agencies.
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to track performance and identify optimization opportunities.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of e commerce experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success scaling DTC e commerce for skincare, beauty, wellness, or health adjacent brands.
  • Strong expertise in Shopify or equivalent platforms, CRO, subscriptions, and site merchandising.
  • Data driven mindset with experience managing revenue targets, forecasting, and P&L responsibilities.
  • Excellent cross functional communication and leadership skills, with experience managing teams and external partners.
  • Preferred: experience with dermatologist founded or clinically positioned brands, international e commerce, omnichannel expansion, A/B testing, personalization, and retention tools.
