Job Description
To support the Nursing Manager in leading and coordinating safe, quality patient care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS- Support the Nursing Manager to achieve quality patient care in line with the hospital operational goals and objectives
- Manage patient risks to achieve patient safety in line with specified clinical outcomes
- Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks
- Ensure optimal utilisation of a competent and engaged workforce and other resources in line with the relevant company guidelines
- Lead and manage direct reports
- Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree/diploma in nursing, Appropriate leadership/management qualification
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in a supervisory position, e.g. Unit Manager
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 2 - 3 years experience in a supervisory position within a specialised unit
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE- Infection prevention and control
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
- Productivity management in nursing
- Clinical risk management
- Nursing functional knowledge
- Knowledge and experience in auditing and accreditation processes
- Human resource processes including employee relations
