Delivery Manager
Job Description
Do you want to do work that matters, alongside supportive leaders who will help you grow faster than you ever thought possible? Are you a creative problem solver who is energized by challenges? You've come to the right place.
YOUR IMPACTAs a Delivery Manager, you will lead transformation projects by engaging at a deep level across our clients' businesses, working in teams to build the capabilities, systems and processes needed to deliver bottom line results and then ensure those results will be sustained. You will lead, coach, and motivate your team of consultants and client employees in each project. You'll act as a subject matter expert, combining experience with strong problem solving abilities to derive business insights and solid recommendations for clients. You will contribute to the implementation of our Delivery groups' growth strategy, and you will take responsibility on the development of the firm. You will grow in a stimulating and human environment where quality of life at work is important. You will be based in our McKinsey office in Johannesburg, as part of our delivery assurance offering, working closely and in partnership with clients' senior management and their specialist departments. Orphoz aspires to help our clients to achieve one of their biggest challenges: to make their transformation plans really happen.
Our day to day work is to support large companies who need to adapt their operating models to accelerated changes in their environment, by combining agility, sustainable efficiency, and employee engagement. All in all, we exist to deliver a lasting impact to our clients. With Orphoz you can expect a uniquely varied and exciting working environment, as well as the opportunity to work with a talented and dynamic growing team. Orphoz helps leading private sector organizations execute business transformation programs in a time of accelerated change. The business transformation includes organizational structure, capability building, and service redesign. We turn strategy into practice, using agile, efficient, and highly engaging methods that work on the ground rather than just looking good on paper. Orphoz integrates the skills, the approach, the corporate culture, and the resources that lead to the success of complex and challenging transformation projects and is ideally positioned to smoothly implement strategies designed by McKinsey & Company.
We plan and deliver change projects together with our clients, helping them capture their full potential. We know what determines the success of large projects and what can ensure lasting implementation success. We work closely and in partnership with our clients' senior management and specialist functions. We combine strategic and operational project management, with strong execution skills and an understanding of the specific demands of each industry. We measure our success by achieving the goals we set together with our clients.
YOUR GROWTHDriving lasting impact and building long term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward. In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues-at all levels-will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won't find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
- Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast paced learning experience, owning your journey.
- A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions, all while upholding our unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
- Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- World class benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well being for you and your family.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or a similar field with a strong record of academic achievement
- 5+ years of experience in project management, some coming from a consulting environment with high problem solving ability
- Expertise in Mining Operations, Telco or Financial Services is preferred
- Proven experience developing and delivering large scale business unit transformation projects such as turnaround, restructuring, capability building, organizational structure, and setting up a Transformation office
- Demonstrated track record in the following key service offerings: organizational development (including org. design/set up, talent management, etc.) and/or productivity and performance improvement is highly preferred
- You have experience in leading client workshops, building teams, empowering and coaching team members/clients to achieve impact
