About the Role

Snap Analytics is seeking a highly experienced Delivery Director to lead large-scale data and analytics programmes for one of our key enterprise clients in South Africa. This role is responsible for end to end delivery leadership, senior client stakeholder management, technical oversight within the client's technology landscape, and commercially sound programme management.

This is not a pure technical lead role, nor a country-wide capability owner. Instead, you will operate as a senior delivery leader embedded within a major enterprise account, combining delivery excellence, technical understanding, and commercial awareness to ensure successful outcomes.

What You'll Need to Succeed Essential Experience
  • 12-15+ years in data, analytics, or enterprise technology delivery.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale data platform or analytics programmes.
  • Experience delivering with one or more modern data ecosystems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Data, dbt, Fivetran, Power BI).
  • Strong background in programme and project management.
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders and navigate complex enterprise environments.
  • Commercial literacy: writing SOWs, managing scope, controlling margins, forecasting.
Highly Advantageous
  • Exposure to SAP data integration landscapes.
  • Experience with global or matrixed organisations.

What You'll Be Doing Delivery & Programme Leadership (Primary Focus)
  • Own the end to end delivery of large scale data and analytics programmes.
  • Establish and run governance, delivery cadence, reporting, and RAID processes.
  • Ensure programme execution is predictable, high quality, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple delivery streams and teams.
  • De risk issues proactively and maintain a clear delivery roadmap.
Technical Leadership (Account Specific)

Provide delivery embedded technical oversight across the client's modern data ecosystem, such as:

  • Databricks
  • Azure Data Services
  • Snowflake / Redshift / BigQuery
  • Power BI
  • Fivetran
  • dbt
Responsibilities include
  • Guiding technical approaches, reviewing solution designs, and ensuring best practice delivery.
  • Supporting engineers, architects, and analysts in design and execution.
  • Ensuring the platform evolves in a scalable, governed, and value focused manner.
  • Stepping in with hands on support when necessary to unblock teams or clarify direction.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the trusted senior delivery partner to client leadership.
  • Lead strategic discussions around roadmap, delivery health, architecture alignment, and risk.
  • Manage complex or sensitive stakeholder interactions with confidence and diplomacy.
  • Build long term, trusted relationships across business and technology stakeholders.
Commercial Ownership
  • Own account level commercials including scope, forecasting, margin, and change control.
  • Write or review Statements of Work with clear assumptions and delivery models.
  • Ensure financial governance is aligned with project realities and resourcing needs.
  • Support commercial teams with pricing, proposal development, and contract refinement.
Business Development (Delivery Led)
  • Identify and shape new opportunities arising naturally from delivery activities and client needs.
  • Contribute to scoping, estimation, and value case development for new initiatives.
  • Support bid responses, proposals, and roadmap presentations as part of account growth.
People & Capability Leadership (Within the Client Engagement)
  • Lead Snap's delivery team deployed into the client account.
  • Build a cohesive, high performing team culture centred on excellence and accountability.
  • Mentor Delivery Managers, Technical Leads, and Senior Consultants.
  • Drive capability uplift across Databricks, Power BI, Fivetran, dbt, and broader data engineering practices within the context of the account.
