Site Control and Instrumentation Engineer

Job Title: Site Control and Instrumentation Engineer

This position has now been filled, but has been left on our website as we have other similar vacancies on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the PCS7/DCS systems across site, ensuring the DCS system operates to its full capacity with all appropriate comments & documentation in English.
  • Ensure that suitable documentation & training is completed with key individuals from the engineering department to support the DCS system.
  • Develop the DCS system with additional features in line with the business needs as required.
  • Develop systems to update Siemens operating software & "hot fixes" for the DCS system/Press Systems/Pre-Press equipment and other operating systems across site as required, with minimal disruption.
  • Ensure systems are in place to replace & update hardware and software including licenses at all times.
  • To ensure the operation of the following systems is optimised for production & energy requirements: Solvent recovery, Turbo Mach, HVAC (Design), VKK (Boilers), Steam, Compressed air-high & low pressure, Chilled water, Hot water.
  • Organisational Design.
  • Develop a suitable system for calibration of instrumentation & transducers in line with legislative & production requirements.
  • Participate in any Engineering projects.
  • Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by manager.
  • On call requirement.
  • Weekend Engineering Cover.
Health, Safety and Environment

Ensure departmental compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental procedures, legislation and targets to meet plant and corporate requirements and to assist in the maintenance of a safe and environmentally friendly workplace. Include HS&E concerns/issues within regular documented team briefings, feedback relevant information to HS&E Manager using the appropriate documentation system.

Person Specification
  • Must be able to work flexibility and fulfill duties as part of an on-call rota.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability and drive to direct own workloads.
  • Supervisory/Management skills would be advantageous.
  • Desire to train and share knowledge.
Education and Skills Background
  • Education: Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Siemens S7 Programming specialist Qualified, DCS/WinCC/Omron/PLC's.
  • Proven track record in maintaining, installing and commissioning production control systems.
  • Worked in FMCG environment.
  • Combine Heat and Power experience (Not essential but desired).
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office at Advanced Level.
