Job Description

Essential
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Relevant Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 3 Years Management experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment
Advantageous
  • Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems
Job Specification
  • Ensure that the system is monitored, cleaned up by using the management tools, available on SAP EWM
  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximise operational efficiencies
  • Ensure that customer orders and jabs are managed daily and that wave item clearing is maintained with no orders in excess of 48 hours
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of new projects related to improving the efficiency of operations
  • Ensure that all resources, including electronic equipment and materials handling equipment is maintained and in safe operating conditions
  • Ensure that all orders are distributed as per Dis-Chem standard operating procedures
  • Ensure that resources and queues are monitored and optimised as per operational requirements
  • Ensure optimal planning and forecasting of department resources to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives
  • Develop and Implement solutions for addressing large seasonal shipments or unusual/ special packaging
  • Manage shelf life to ensure no short dated and/or expired stock is dispatch to customers
  • Analyse and interpret all potential departmental shrinkage indicators and act accordingly
  • Ensure effective management and adherence to GWP, SHE program and OHS act
  • Effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries
  • Ensure that all deliveries are delivered in full, on time and to the correct customer
  • Prevent and act on security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively
  • Manage outsourced companies, including daily and monthly monitoring of SLA s and costs
  • Identify supplier issues that impact required financial objectives and address them at the appropriate level internally and externally
  • Manage financial indicators in line with budgets for the operations environment and adherence to corporate governance principles
Competencies Essential
  • Knowledge of Management Systems, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Emergency process, Public Safety and Security, Customer Service, Transportation Principles and Methods, Production and Processing, Material Handling Standards, Administration and Management, Supply Chain and Personnel and Human Resources Management; Have knowledge of the business measures and targets, directly related to own role; English -Read, write and speak; Trustworthy and Honest; Takes accountability for own actions; Have knowledge and understand consequential impacts of decisions made; Analytical thinking; Be able to read and analyse financial reports; Time management, deadline driven and attention to detail; Demonstrates personal initiative. Development of self and subordinates; Ability to work under pressure
