We are seeking a CreditControl & Expenses Assistant to join the Finance team within our Cape Town Central Operations division.

The Role

Credit Control - Working with the Credit control manager to monitor the sales ledger to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts

  • Chase overdue invoices via email and telephone in a professional and courteous manner
  • Allocate client payments accurately and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Reconcile client accounts and investigate queries
  • Maintain accurate records of client communications
  • Support credit risk assessments and escalation of overdue accounts where necessary
  • Partnering with Business Unit coordinators and assisting in their invoice processes
Expense s and credit cards - Working with the Global office manager to monitor credit cards and expenses
  • Resolve queries with employees regarding expense submissions making sure expense claims are in line with company policy
  • Check receipts, VAT treatment, and approvals for accuracy and compliance
  • Post expenses into the accounting system and assist with expense reporting
  • Support improvements to expense processes and controls
  • Maintain accurate records of employee communication
Finance Support
  • Cover for finance assistant
  • Assist with month end close activities, including reconciliations
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations when required
  • Provide ad hoc support to the wider Finance team as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The qualifications and experience required to perform this role successfully are:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills, particularly when chasing payments
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Salesforce
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

The role will be based in our Cape Town office. All candidates must have permission to work in South Africa by the start of their employment.
