Job Description

Our client in the mining industry is dedicated to fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and sustainable workplace. They are seeking a dynamic Contracting Specialist who is ready to grow, contribute, and thrive in a collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute the unit operations plan and monitor performance against KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with business processes and drive continuous system improvements.
  • Lead the end-to-end contracting process, including negotiation, drafting, execution, and administration.
  • Achieve on-time contract availability and increase on-contract spend.
  • Monitor contract performance, manage risks, and provide regular reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and resolve contract-related issues promptly.
  • Manage supplier performance against SLAs and take corrective action where needed.
  • Support budgeting through expenditure tracking, financial analysis, and cost control.
  • Ensure SHE standards are implemented, monitored, and maintained.
  • Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment (aligned to EE targets), and operational resourcing.
  • Support the department's sustainability objectives and ensure environmentally responsible operations.
Requirements

BCom/BTech in Supply Chain, Procurement, Contracts Management or similar.

Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management will be advantageous.

CIPS Certification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) - mandatory.

Minimum of 5 years' contract management experience in the explosives, manufacturing, or mining sectors.

Must be willing to travel on site.

Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and SAP Ariba Contracting.
