Key Purpose of Job

NewSpace has a permanent opportunity for a Configuration Administrator. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the administration and control of engineering documentation, as well as the management of software and hardware baselines across multiple projects. This role includes supporting drawing reviews and ensuring configuration integrity while working within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, high-technology environment.

Key Tasks

General:

  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and project managers to understand products and processes
  • Administer and control engineering documentation in line with company standards
  • Ensure all documentation complies with quality requirements and applicable standards
  • Review engineering documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Support configuration management activities on projects and products, including:
    1. Building and maintaining product structures
    2. Managing baselines and Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECR/ECO)
    3. Lifecycle and document control
Prerequisites, Qualifications & Experience Qualification
  • Matric
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering (Electronic, Mechatronic, or Mechanical) - preferred
Experience
  • 2-3 years' experience presenting complex data in a clear and concise manner
  • 2-3 years' experience working with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SolidWorks, CAD-PDM, or similar systems is advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in configuration or administrative management
  • Technical writing experience in an engineering environment will be advantageous

  • Knowledge of configuration management principles (baselines, version and change control)
  • Strong document control and data accuracy focus
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems and structured data management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good coordination skills across engineering and project teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Process-driven with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement
