Job Description

Job Purpose

Job Purpose: The Compliance Coordinator ensures that the organization adheres to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards. This role implements and upholds company policies related to quality assurance, environmental management, health & safety, and corporate governance, helping to minimize risk and foster a culture of compliance and integrity across all business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with management and business units; understand operational risks and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ethics Management: Oversee the Code of Ethics, manage whistleblowing channels, coordinate ethics training, and ensure timely escalation of breaches.
  • Compliance Program Oversight: Maintain the compliance calendar, track regulatory changes, update policies, conduct risk assessments, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Reporting & Monitoring: Deliver accurate compliance reports, conduct internal audits, and maintain up-to-date documentation aligned with legislative changes.
  • Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver compliance training programs; launch awareness campaigns to reinforce a strong compliance culture.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Participate in strategic projects, provide risk and control advisory, and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Degree (NQF 7) in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field
  • Certificate in Compliance (ICA)
  • Advanced Certificate/Diploma in Business Compliance (ICA)
Knowledge
  • Risk Management & Assessment
  • Auditing & Accounting Principles
  • Ethics & Compliance Principles
  • Internal Control
  • Corporate Governance
  • Business Law
Experience
  • 3-5 years in compliance, risk management, or internal auditing
  • 2-3 years in manufacturing, retail, or wholesale industry
Skills & Competencies
  • Advanced Excel and ISO Certification (9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Data Analytics, Reporting, Planning & Organizing
  • Attention to Detail, Communication, Presentation, Analytical Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Training Skills
