Overview

Tshwane North College for Technical and Vocational Education and Training would like to invite suitably qualified, innovative, result orientated and self driven candidates to apply for the vacant Fixed Term Contract Positions.

Nature of Appointment: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract.

Salary: R228,321 per annum (Level 5) plus 37% in lieu of benefits.

Centre: Central Office - Ref: TNC/CO/26-01/2.

Qualifications

Senior Certificate or equivalent plus a Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication Science, Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field.

A minimum of 1-2 years' working experience in communication and marketing and a valid driver's licence.

Competencies: report writing, verbal and written communication, client orientation, customer focus, problem solving, planning and organising.

Attributes: ethical behaviour, honesty and integrity, ability to work effectively under pressure, maintain a high level of confidentiality of information and respect copyrights.

Computer skills: advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in graphic design, photography, videography and editing.

Willingness to travel, work irregular hours and meet deadlines within tight timeframes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with identification and placement of all print, radio and publication material.
  • Design marketing materials following brand guidelines, including social media graphics, flyers, posters, digital ads and event signage.
  • Develop and produce college publications: banners, brochures, annual reports, pamphlets, programme information.
  • Assist with management of public relations and media liaison services.
  • Assist with proofreading and editing of external written publications and articles.
  • Assist in college events including exhibition participation, official functions and special marketing events.
  • Assist with event setup, photography/videography coverage and post event promotional content.
  • Create written, visual and digital content for social media, websites, newsletters and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate media queries and responses; track positive and negative stories on social media and newspapers.
  • Provide graphic design and photographic services and assist in writing stories for the college.
  • Capture visual footage at events for news articles.
  • Assist with branding at college events.
  • Sub editor role of the electronic newsletter.
  • Monitor, evaluate and respond to queries on official social media and online communication platforms.
  • Support social media management by preparing posts, scheduling content and monitoring engagement.
  • Maintain content, design and layout of the college website.
  • Coordinate college events and provide communication administrative support across delivery sites.
  • Oversee dissemination of electronic and hard copy materials to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure document management support and storage of communication materials and equipment.
