We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Contracts Manager to oversee and manage contractual obligations and compliance for projects involving parastatal clients. The role requires expertise in contract negotiation, administration, and risk management within the mining and industrial technology sector.
In this position, you will report to the Head of Commercial Proposals.
This position is mainly based in Centurion, Gauteng.
TEAM YOU'LL BELONG TOYou will join the Commercial Proposals Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Customers, Service Business Line Technical Support Teams, to assure a common understanding/application of technical support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso's equipment, Metso colleagues, Metso visitors and Metso management.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with mining entities, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies to safeguard company interests.
- Ensure adherence to South African public sector procurement regulations, BBBEE requirements, and company policies.
- Liaise with mining representatives, legal teams, and internal departments to maintain strong working relationships.
- Track contract deliverables, timelines, and obligations to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage and resolve contractual disputes, claims, and variations in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on contract status, risks, and opportunities.
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor's degree in law, Business Administration, or related field (LLB preferred)
- Minimum 7-10 years' experience in contract management, preferably within mining, engineering, or industrial technology sectors.
- Proven experience working with mining clients and knowledge of public procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with South African contract law and regulatory frameworks.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage complex contracts.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
