Clothing Assistant Manager

Pick n Pay seeks a dedicated and focused individual to join our team as a Clothing Assistant Manager. The role requires a blend of customer service excellence, people management, and operational execution to support store performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Journey: Deliver a customer centric experience, enforce customer service standards, respond to service requests, and promote product and services. Ensure visual merchandising (VM) standards are followed and all plans and promotions are executed.
  • People Management: Assist the Store Manager with staffing functions. Undertake recruitment on a store level, manage employee performance and succession planning, identify training and development initiatives, and address employee shortcomings when necessary. Lead and manage a team of employees.
  • Daily Operations / Stock Management / Risk Management: Open and close the store following security procedures; conduct start and end of day reporting; administer staff scheduling, leave, invoices, pricing, costs, floats, banking, expense control, reconciliations, CDC, and head office instructions. Ensure merchandise is loaded, captured, packed, merchandised, displayed, monitored for quality, shrinkage, and OHS compliance.
  • Sales / Promotions: Promote sales to achieve budgets, monitor turnover, and implement promotional activities, markdowns, and return to hand (RTC) operations.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a managerial position.
  • Computer literate - MS Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams/Zoom.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and after hour stocktakes.
  • Willingness to relocate between stores as needed.
  • Ability to undertake physical hands on tasks.
