Clerk: Payroll
Job Description
This role involves the accurate processing of payroll and related reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, and providing HR administrative support across the employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including timesheets, allowances, deductions, and employee changes.
- Process monthly payroll inputs, reconciliations, and submissions.
- Administer Provident Fund processes in line with legislation.
- Support employee lifecycle administration, including appointments, transfers, and terminations.
- Address payroll queries and discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Liaise with operational points to ensure timely and accurate payroll information.
- Assist with reporting requirements and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Support compliance with relevant legislation and internal HR processes.
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Diploma/Degree in HR (advantageous).
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Bilingual (English and Afrikaans) (advantageous).
- Sage People 300 system experience (advantageous).
- Drivers' License: Code 08 (advantageous).
