Job Summary

We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial and hands on Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the investment strategy and portfolio management of a private family office. The CIO will design and implement institutional grade investment frameworks, asset allocation models, and governance structures to support long term capital preservation and growth. This role requires a strong foundation in portfolio management, combined with start up agility to build and operationalise the investment platform from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities 1. Investment Strategy & Asset Allocation
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical asset allocation frameworks.
  • Design and oversee multi asset portfolios across public and private markets.
  • Formulate and maintain the Investment Policy Statement (IPS).
  • Align investment strategies with principals' long term objectives and liquidity needs.
2. Portfolio Construction & Execution (Hands On)
  • Lead capital deployment, portfolio construction, and rebalancing decisions.
  • Conduct due diligence on direct investments, private equity, venture capital, and fund allocations.
  • Structure investment vehicles and negotiate terms where applicable.
3. Investment Framework & Governance
  • Establish robust investment governance frameworks and approval processes.
  • Design performance measurement, attribution models, and reporting standards.
  • Implement disciplined risk management policies and monitoring systems.
4. Risk Management & Compliance
  • Oversee market, liquidity, concentration, and counterparty risk frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with MAS regulations where applicable (e.g., 13O / 13U structures).
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis.
5. Leadership & Platform Building
  • Build and mentor a lean investment team.
  • Work closely with principals and stakeholders to provide strategic investment insights.
  • Contribute to the broader operating model and long term development of the family office.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
  • CFA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of relevant investment experience, with progression from Portfolio Manager to senior leadership.
  • Proven experience in asset allocation framework design and multi asset portfolio construction.
  • Strong exposure to public markets, private equity, and alternative investments.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in start up or platform building environments.
  • High integrity and discretion when working with UHNW stakeholders.
Language Requirement
  • Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required to effectively liaise with Mandarin speaking principals.
