We're on the lookout for a Checker Chemical to ensure all outside equipment and processes are fully utilized and functional. Ensure safe execution of outside activities within his area of responsible.

As a Checker Chemical you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the plant operates according to the required production rate and quality specifications.
  • Check auxiliary equipment at least once per shift.
  • Monitor the effective operation of lime conveyors and related equipment.
  • Report any plant defects or deviations from normal operating conditions.
  • Identify abnormal or emergency plant conditions and take corrective action according to procedures.

Communication

  • Capture and update information in SAP PM notifications, OEE systems, and the daily logbook.
  • Ensure accurate communication of plant status and operational issues to the Process Controller or Shift Superintendent.
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment by identifying and managing risks.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and safety incidents immediately.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety procedures, BBS practices, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the work area.

Administration & Resources

  • Capture plant data accurately and record all relevant plant deviations and notifications.

What are we looking for?

  • N3 in Pulp and Paper or Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
