Job Description
We are looking for a CATERING MANAGERS to lead operations at various facilities in Cape Town. This newly created role requires a hands on leader with strong culinary and management skills to ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service. You'll oversee kitchen staff, menu planning, procurement, and compliance while fostering a motivated, service driven team.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee meal production, kitchen hygiene, and food storage
- Plan menus to maximize gross profit and meet dietary requirements
- Ensure accurate ordering, stock rotation, and budget control
- Maintain quality control and compliance with company standards
- Manage cash handling, stock checks, and payroll processes
- Liaise with clients and patients to uphold service excellence
- Train staff on portion control, presentation, and hygiene protocols
- Maintain staff files and support HR/IR processes
- Attend weekly meetings and provide operational updates
- Prevent food waste and ensure health and safety regulations are met
- Grade 12 and formal qualification in Hospitality or Culinary Arts (NQF Level 6)
- Minimum 5 years' managerial experience in healthcare catering (preferred)
- Strong food preparation and presentation skills
- Computer proficiency and administrative competence
- Knowledge of HR/IR practices and staff management
- Experience with Halaal and special dietary requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and client liaison skills
- Ability to work shifts and weekends
- Valid driver's license and own transport
- Clear criminal record
- ZAR 20 - 30k CTC - depending on the location and slightly negotiable
