Minimum RequirementsNational Senior Certificate/Grade 12 plus a recognised 3 or 4 year qualification (Degree/Diploma) which includes a professional teacher qualification. At least 7 years of working experience in a TVET sector educational institution, of which at least 3 years must be at a managerial level. Must be registered with SACE. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook, and possession of a valid unendorsed Driver's License.
Competencies, Knowledge and SkillsThorough knowledge of relevant TVET sector legislation, teaching standards, and curriculum management. Strong management, leadership, budgeting, project and HR development skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical abilities. Initiative, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, and to work independently or as part of a team. Planning, execution, organisation, leading and controlling. Research, report writing and presentation skills. Comprehensive understanding of NCV, Engineering and Business studies programmes across the college and the new TVET college landscape. Diversity management skills and a clear grasp of internal audit and risk management systems.
Duties & Responsibilities- Overall management of campus operations, staff, students and campus activities.
- Coordination and support for staff to ensure learner attainment.
- Institutional quality assurance at campus level.
- Supervising professional development for academic and support staff.
- Accountability for all campus assets and financial transactions.
- Monitoring and evaluation of campus administration processes.
- Discipline and conflict management on campus.
- Development of management plans to meet campus targets and student needs.
- Planning, managing and monitoring student enrolment processes.
- Implementation of policies and procedures for internal audit and risk management.
- Oversight of campus related projects within allocated budgets.
- Promotion of extra curricular activities on campus.
- Liaison with all college stakeholders and support for inter institutional initiatives.
- Management of teaching and learning, including curriculum delivery, interventions, assessments and examinations.
- Supervision of staff performance in line with IQMS and PMDS.
- Compliance with DHET and college policies and procedures.
- Efficient utilisation of campus resources.
- Implementation of quality management systems, policies and processes for classroom practices and assessment.
- Administration of NSFAS and student work placement programmes.
- Contribution to the college transformation and strategic plan.
- Audit processes related to strategic objectives.
- Management of student support, teaching and learning framework.
- Implementation of the student fee structure and debt collection policy.
- Oversight of students support services and student welfare.
- Advisory role to senior college management, college council and its sub committees.
- Planning and budgeting for medium term expenditure and project management.
- Keeping current with latest educational research.
- Maintenance of full accounting records of all assets and financial transactions.
