Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst II to join our Central Business Insights team. This individual will be responsible for developing and presenting actionable business intelligence insights using Power BI/SQL and other reporting tools. The role requires expertise in data analysis and a solid understanding of business needs and processes. You will collaborate with senior business leaders to ensure that insights are delivered in a clear and actionable manner, helping the business achieve its strategic goals.

Qualifications

Qualification & Experience Required:

  • Matric Equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (NQF7) preferred.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Management Information (MI), Business Intelligence (BI), or Data Analyst role.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing BI reports, particularly for senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency inMicrosoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and macros.
  • Experience with Power BI, Business Objects, Tableau, or similar automated reporting tools.
  • Strong experience with SQL, MSQL, Java, PHP, or other coding languages.
  • Knowledge of how data is stored and managed, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt (preferred).
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, providing business stakeholders with meaningful insights and helping to drive decision-making.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze complex datasets, identify key trends, and transform data into actionable business insights.
  • Automated Reporting: Utilize tools such asPower BI,Business Objects, orTableauto automate reporting processes, ensuring that reports are accurate, timely, and accessible.
  • SQL Querying & Database Management: Work with SQL, MSQL, and other coding languages to extract and manipulate data for reporting purposes.
  • Business Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with senior business leaders to understand their data needs and ensure reports are designed to meet those needs, delivering actionable insights.
  • Data Storage & Management: Ensure data is accurately stored and easily accessible, while maintaining data integrity and security.
  • Process Improvement: Use data analysis to identify areas of improvement and implement data-driven solutions to improve business operations.
  • Call Centre Data: Leverage knowledge of call centre systems such as Avaya CMS and IEX6 to provide insights and reporting on call centre operations and performance.
