We are looking for a Business Development Manager who knows how to find opportunity, build trust, and close. We are deliberately open on industry background. If you have spent years building a client base, managing a pipeline, and delivering results in a high-performance sales environment - we'd love to talk to you, regardless of whether that was in technology, recruitment, property, financial services, or somewhere else entirely.
We will back the right person with full product training, AWS certification support, and direct access to leadership. What we cannot teach is the instinct, the discipline, and the hunger. That needs to come with you.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Prospecting
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target sectors including financial services, public sector, and enterprise. Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects. Conduct outreach to warm and cold leads, supported by strong marketing and technical collateral. Represent Developmenthub at industry events and client engagements.
Account Management & Growth
Own relationships with a portfolio of clients from first conversation through to signed contract and beyond. Develop account plans and identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts. Work closely with technical and delivery teams to ensure clients get what was promised.
Manage pipeline activity through our CRM with accuracy and discipline. Produce regular updates and forecasts for the MD. Keep the picture honest - good news and bad.
- Five or more years in a senior sales, business development, or client-facing commercial role with clear revenue results
- A track record of building client relationships from scratch and seeing them through to close
- Strong written and verbal communication - you can tell a compelling story and hold a room
- Organised, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities at different stages
- A genuine curiosity about technology and how it creates value for businesses
Advantageous
- Exposure to technology, software development, or professional services
- Familiarity with a CRM platform
- Experience in financial services, public sector, or regulated industries
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or willingness to obtain within six months of joining
