Job Description

the Business Development Management will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the construction industry. This role focuses on expanding the company's client base, strengthening strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable revenue growth across residential, commercial, and/or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the construction section.
  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients, developers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Lead client presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions.
  • Convert leads into secured projects aligned with company objectives.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain long term relationships with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and suppliers.
  • Act as a key point of contact during pre contract and tender phases.
  • Attend industry events, site meetings, and networking functions.
Tendering & Proposals
  • Identify and assess tender opportunities (public and private sector).
  • Collaborate with estimating, technical, and operations teams to prepare bids and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with tender requirements and submission deadlines.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies and commercial risk assessments.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming developments.
  • Provide insights to leadership to support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Identify new sectors, regions, or services for expansion.
Reporting & Performance
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
  • Provide regular reports on pipeline, conversions, and revenue performance.
  • Meet or exceed agreed business development targets and KPIs.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry and project lifecycles.
  • Proven ability to generate and close new business.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
  • Relationship driven with a consultative sales approach.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant qualification in Business, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field (advantageous).
  • Minimum 3-7 years' experience in business development, sales, marketing, client relationship management or commercial roles within construction.
  • Proven track record of securing construction projects or service contracts.
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle (essential).
