Key Purpose of the roleThe Technical Business Analyst is a crucial role responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity and alignment of the Sonata RDA system configuration with its business processes and requirements. This role consults with business stakeholders and analysts on the business requirements, translating the requirements into system configurations, and ensures changes are documented, tested, approved, and implemented rigorously. It involves managing and supporting the Sonata system configuration lifecycle, from initial requirement gathering through to deployment and ongoing maintenance, utilising the Configuration Management Cycle, and ensuring alignment with the Systems and Production. The Technical Business Analyst may be asked to participate in creating User Acceptance Test Scripts. The Business Analyst is a critical liaison between the Project Manager and the Technical teams and is expected to work across multiple business areas and teams to support the Group's shared value model.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to Requirement Analysis- Participate in high level planning sessions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to gather, analyse, and document configuration requirements.
- Finalise and obtain approval of Business Requirements
- Translate business requirements into detailed, achievable, system configuration specifications and implement configurations.
- Analyse existing Sonata RDA processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend configuration-based solutions to enhance system functionality and operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Sonata system configurations for system modules in alignment with business requirements.
- Ensure all configurations comply with established standards, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the Configuration Management Database, ensuring accurate and up to date records of all system components and their attributes.
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and promotion scripts to validate new and modified configurations (Unit, Integration, and UAT).
- Troubleshoot and resolve configuration related issues, providing timely solutions and root cause analysis.
- Create and maintain thorough documentation of Sonata RDA configurations, processes, and change control procedures.
- Develop training materials, where applicable, and conduct training sessions for business users and support personnel on new system configurations and best practices.
- Manage the configuration change lifecycle, including impact analysis of proposed changes, submission of Change Requests, and coordination of deployments.
- Conduct regular audits of system configurations to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Assist with User guide documentation (where required)
- Publish release notes (where required)
- Provide regular updates to PM on BA deliverables
- Effective communication with the Project and Technical teams

- Reporting Skills: ability to consolidate information and compile reports reflecting the necessary relevant information.

- Strong experience with the Sonata system and associated Configuration is preferred.
- Superior problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities to diagnose complex issues and propose optimal configuration solutions for Sonata.
- Meticulous attention to detail required for accurate Sonata system configuration and documentation.
- Confidence working with cross functional teams and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Experience working within structured governance frameworks (e.g. COBIT, SAFe).
- Project Management, SQL queries, Business Writing Skills, Presentation and Facilitation Skills.
- Strong experience with Configuration Management Databases and asset management principles.
- Solution Architecture, Process Mapping, Entity Diagram mapping.
- Software testing pack design, functional testing.
- Diploma or degree in Information Systems, Business Analysis, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience with the configuration and maintenance of a major enterprise system (e.g. Sonata).
- More than 3 years' experience in business analysis, system configuration, systems analysis, or similar role.
- Business experience & product knowledge advantageous.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum) and knowledge of the full project lifecycle.
