Job Description

Our client, a well established company based in Somerset West, is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper with a minimum of 10 years' bookkeeping experience at the Balance Sheet level.

The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping knowledge, experience dealing with imports and Import VAT advantageous, and the ability to manage the full bookkeeping and HR function independently.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a Bookkeeper to Balance Sheet level
  • Knowledge of imports and Import VAT will be an advantage
  • Proficient in Sage Pastel V19 and Pastel Payroll
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Duties will include, but not limited to:
  • Full bookkeeping function to Balance Sheet on Pastel 19
  • Preparation of annual financials for audit purposes
  • Posting and balancing of cash books
  • Submission of VAT returns, including Import VAT
  • Processing salaries on Pastel Payroll
  • Submission of all monthly statutory returns
  • Overseeing cash flow and daily financial operations
  • Handling HR administration including recruitment, employee records, salaries and HR related matters
