Bandsaw Operator
Job Description
We are currently looking for a Bandsaw Operator to safely and efficiently operate a bandsaw machine to cut raw materials to specified sizes and weights in line with production targets, quality standards, and food safety requirements.
- Grade 10 / Matric (preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience operating a bandsaw machine in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, hygiene practices).
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime if required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Responsible, reliable, and safety-conscious.
- Operate the bandsaw machine according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately cut meat or raw materials to required specifications and tolerances.
- Ensure maximum yield and minimal wastage during cutting operations.
- Perform pre-operational checks and report any mechanical faults immediately.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the workstation in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including correct use of PPE.
- Meet daily production targets and quality standards.
- Assist with cleaning, sanitising, and shutdown procedures of equipment.
- Complete basic production records and quality checks as required.
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
