Job Description

We are currently looking for a Bandsaw Operator to safely and efficiently operate a bandsaw machine to cut raw materials to specified sizes and weights in line with production targets, quality standards, and food safety requirements.

  • Grade 10 / Matric (preferred).
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience operating a bandsaw machine in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, hygiene practices).
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime if required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Responsible, reliable, and safety-conscious.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the bandsaw machine according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately cut meat or raw materials to required specifications and tolerances.
  • Ensure maximum yield and minimal wastage during cutting operations.
  • Perform pre-operational checks and report any mechanical faults immediately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the workstation in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including correct use of PPE.
  • Meet daily production targets and quality standards.
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitising, and shutdown procedures of equipment.
  • Complete basic production records and quality checks as required.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
