We are looking for an Automation Specialist based: South Africa

The Automation Specialist designs, implements, and maintains automated systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity. The successful candidate will identify and analyze existing processes, develop automation solutions, and ensure systems operate smoothly.

Minimum Qualification

BTech Degree Electronics / Programming and/or relevant qualification

Experience

3 to 5 years relevant and/or similar experience in a similar role, in Automotive Manufacturing or Manufacturing, Technical training, programming, Robotics

Profile Request Technical Pre-Requisite
  • Robotic Experience, preferably ABB and Kawasaki
  • PLC - Intermediate, including programming, fault finding and installation
  • preferably Mitsubishi and Omron
  • Project Management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process Analysis - analyse existing process to identify opportunities for automation and improvement
  • System Design and Development - Design, develop and implement automated systems and processes using various tools and technologies
  • Testing and Validation - Thoroughly test and validate automation systems and processes using various tools and technologies
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance - Troubleshoot and maintain existing automation infrastructure, addressing any issues that arise
  • Documentation - create and maintain documentation for automation processes, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams to identify automation need and solutions.
  • Conduct regular system performance assessments make recommendations for optimisation.
  • Performing cost benefit analysis to justify automation investments.
  • Generate reports on automation project performance and results
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Integrate automation systems with other systems or analytical tools
  • Provide maintenance and production technical support
