Job Description

Key Outputs

Carry out auto-electrical repairs and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment in workshops or on customer sites

Remove and install auto electrical components

Ensure safe work practice

Quickly and efficiently deal with all customers auto electrical breakdowns

Maintain professional image when representing BWE on customer site

Compile accurate customer service reports

Compile accurate parts list needed for machine repairs

Effective self-management and performance ownership

Comply with Contamination control requirements

Control own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)

Maintain field service vehicle and equipment

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

Grade 12, Qualified in relevant trade (Auto - Electrician)

Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience on electric and electronic systems on Caterpillar machines

Sound knowledge of safety rules & mining operations

Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in electrical and electronic systems

Machine specific technical knowledge and skills

Good understanding of Caterpillar electrical and electronic system

Applicable attachments product operation knowledge

Knowledge and/or exposure to ISO quality systems.

Good technical report writing skills

Good computer literacy (SIS, STW & ET, Microsoft Office) knowledge.

Valid Driver's licence

Sound interpersonal and communication skills

Machine specific technical knowledge and skills
