AstraZeneca $50000 Fellowships 2026 Open Under One Young World Program

AstraZeneca and One Young World have officially opened applications for the 2026 Young Health Programme (YHP) Impact Fellowship, one of the few global fellowships that pairs serious grant capital with a seat at the One Young World Summit. Applications for the AstraZeneca fellowship opened on 5 March 2026 and will close on 12 April 2026, giving young non profit founders a narrow window to secure what is arguably the most strategically packaged youth health award currently on offer.

The 2026 Young Health Programme Fellowship lands at a moment when global health funding for youth led organizations has tightened sharply. Bilateral aid cuts across Europe and shifting U.S. development priorities have left many small non profits scrambling for unrestricted grants. AstraZeneca's programme cuts directly against that trend, channeling money to founder led organizations working on non communicable diseases, rare diseases, climate linked health risks, and health system resilience-areas chronically underfunded relative to their burden on young people.

Selected Fellows receive a fully funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit in Cape Town from 3-6 November 2026, lifetime access to the Ambassador Network, and structured learning through the One Young World Academy mini MBA alongside mentorship from AstraZeneca staff. The financial centerpiece is a grant of USD $10,000 awarded through each Fellow's registered non profit. One Fellow, selected as the Lead2030 winner for Sustainable Development Goal 3, will instead receive USD $50,000-eligible applicants are automatically considered, with no separate form required.

The Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship is open to applicants of any nationality aged 18 to 30, though older candidates with strong track records are considered. Applicants must be founders or senior leaders of registered non profits that have been operational for at least three years and work in underserved communities. For the $10,000 tier, organizations must report annual income between $10,000 and $1 million; for the $50,000 Lead2030 tier, between $100,000 and $2 million. English proficiency and the ability to travel to Cape Town in November 2026 are mandatory. Crucially, organizations must be ready to pass a charity verification process run by the Charities Aid Foundation, which can take three to six months.

The YHP Impact Fellowship is not designed for first time activists or informal collectives. The three year operational requirement and the income thresholds make clear that AstraZeneca is targeting organizations already capable of absorbing and deploying grant capital responsibly. Founders running small but established health non profits in low and middle income countries-particularly those working on adolescent NCD prevention, climate health intersections, or rare disease support-are best positioned. The Cape Town location adds weight for African applicants, who historically face the steepest visa hurdles in attending One Young World.

Applications for the AstraZeneca Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship 2026 close on 12 April 2026. Grants are disbursed by October 2026 and projects are required to conclude by December 2027, creating an aggressive timeline. For the right founder, few fellowships offer this combination of unrestricted funding, executive training, and a global stage in a single package.
