Assistant Process Manager
Job Description
- Report on process performance and implement improvements
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyse production data to identify and mitigate risks
- Oversee chemical handling and safety in production inputs
- Manage and reduce waste, ensuring proper consumable usage
- Draft and submit monthly maintenance and performance reports
- Ensure product quality and prevent deviations
- Collaborate with the mill team to deliver on production KPIs
- Maintain compliance with EH&S and company policies
- Support the Sales department by maintaining existing clients, growing market share, and ensuring professional and efficient customer service delivery
- Support plant operations by maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment, assisting with breakdowns, and ensuring machinery runs efficiently
- Manage and optimise all milling plant operations, ensuring performance standards are met through continuous process improvement, risk analysis, and efficiency tracking
- Manage and support day to day lab operations, ensuring quality control, compliance with standards, and continuous improvement across the plant
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering (minimum requirement)
- 5-8 years' experience in Engineering and Manufacturing
- Proven experience in process optimisation within a production environment
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Experience in risk mitigation and quality control
- Familiarity with integrated environmental and quality systems
- Analytical thinking and innovation in plant efficiency
- Based at Cemza Plant in Port Elizabeth
- Permanent role
