Assistant Coach -Cross Country- Cedar High School

Cedar High School is seeking an Assistant Cross Country Coach. This position will remain open until filled.

• Assist in assessing player's skills and assigning team positions.
• Assist in developing a regular practice schedule and organizing practice time to provide both individual and team development.
• Coach and instruct players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observe players during competition and practice, keeping the Head Coach informed to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
• Assist with determining game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
• Assist the Head Coach in maintaining standards of pupil behavior and providing proper supervision of athletes at all times.
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
• Follow state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
• Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Follow established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Participate in special activities to include banquets, award nights, and assemblies.
• Perform support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records.
• Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
