Artisan Fitter

Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Fitter to be placed in Mponeng Mine. The successful candidate will report to the General Engineering Supervisor.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates.Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

• Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specification
• Winding plant maintenance according to agreed procedures, standards and regulations
• Headgear and shaft equipment maintenance according to agreed procedures, standards and regulations
• Maintenance of pumps and fans according to agreed procedures, standards and regulations
• Effective self and team supervision in alignment with Cementation Africa values and leadership initiatives
• Effective stakeholder engagement
• Engineering equipment is maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and schedules
• Compliance with SHEQ, Cementation Africa and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
• Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
• Effective self and team supervision in alignment with Cementation Africa values and leadership initiatives

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
• Section 26 Fitter Trade Certificate / MIETTB (mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade
• Certificate through a registered body e.g.: Olifantsfontein pre 1994, ESTC & GFA
• Sound verbal and written communication skills in English
• Valid Code EB driver's license
• Medical Certificate of Fitness
• Medically fit to work underground Heat tolerance
• Good communication skill in English
• Medically fit to work underground (including HTS, RFA)
• Clear criminal record

• At least 5 years trade experience as artisan Fitter
• At least 5 years mining industry experience in shaft sinking
• Knowledge of Winders, Jumbos, Compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors etc
• OEM training on specific machines
