A leading international provider of industrialinstrumentation, automation solutions and services is seeking acommercially driven Area Sales Manager to lead its Gauteng regionalbusiness.

This role is ideal for a technically qualifiedinstrumentation professional who has successfully transitioned into salesleadership and is passionate about building strong teams, developingstrategic customer relationships, and driving sustainable market growth.

The Gauteng region represents one of the most importantterritories within the business, offering exposure to large industrialcustomers, complex process environments and high-value solution sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead,coach and develop a team of internal sales engineers and regionalrepresentatives
  • Drivea high-performance culture focused on accountability, growth and customervalue
  • Managesales performance against regional targets, budgets and profitabilityobjectives
  • Providestrategic leadership and clear direction to the regional salesorganisation

Strategic Sales & Market Development

  • Developand execute the regional sales strategy across Gauteng, Free State,Limpopo, North West and Northern Cape
  • Identifynew market opportunities across instrumentation, automation solutions andlifecycle services
  • Driveconsultative, solution-based selling across key industrial sectors
  • Expandmarket share through strategic customer engagement and new businessdevelopment

Key Account & Opportunity Management

  • Buildand maintain relationships with key decision makers at major industrialcustomers
  • Developstrategic account plans for Tier A and Tier B clients
  • Leadthe sales process from opportunity identification through to commercialclosure
  • Ensuredisciplined pipeline management, forecasting and CRM utilisation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Workclosely with service, project delivery, marketing and logistics teams toensure seamless customer solutions
  • Supportthe growth of value-added services and integrated automation solutions
  • Maintainhigh standards of governance, ethical conduct and customer satisfaction
Requirements Candidate Requirements

Matric plus National Diploma / N6 in Instrumentation or Automation

Trade Test in Instrumentation

8-10 years' experience within industrial instrumentation, process control or automation sales

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in sales leadership or sales management

Strong exposure to process industries and solution-based technical sales

Proven ability to manage complex customer environments and strategic accounts

Valid driver's licence

Advantageous

Qualification in Sales Management or Business Management

Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar)

Exposure to SAP or Business Intelligence tools

Experience in new business development and market expansion

Travel

Regional travel within the territory is required (approximately 5-8 days per month ).
