Are you a detail-driven accounting professional ready to take ownership of financial operations that directly support smart business decisions? A leading agri-business based in Grabouw is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join their finance team.

This full-time, in-office role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of a values-driven organisation, where financial discipline is key to long-term sustainability and operational agility. The Accountant plays a central role in ensuring financial clarity, compliance, and control. Beyond managing the day-to-day accounting functions, the Accountant will act as a trusted partner to leadership-providing the insights and integrity needed to support business growth and sound decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process supplier invoices and customer payments accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile accounts and follow up on outstanding balances to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • General Ledger and Cash Book: Maintain daily general ledger and cash book entries.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are correctly recorded and compliant with internal policies.
  • Fixed Asset Register: Track asset acquisitions, movements, and disposals.
  • Maintain depreciation schedules and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Tax & SARS Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns and related documentation.
  • Maintain full compliance with SARS and local tax legislation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Commerce () degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a hands-on accounting role.
  • Strong command of full accounting cycle: AP/AR, bank reconciliations, GL, fixed assets, and tax.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Syspro is a significant advantage).
  • Solid understanding of VAT, SARS compliance, and local financial regulations.
  • SAIPA or SAICA registration (completed or in progress) is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a tight-knit, high-performance team.
