CONSTRUCTION HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER
Richards Bay Limited Duration Contract (9 months) On-site Reporting to Site Manager

Leomat Construction (Pty) Ltd invites suitably qualified and experienced Construction Health and Safety Officers to apply for the position of Construction Health and Safety Officer, based at the Richards Bay.

The appointed individual will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Health and Safety systems to ensure full compliance with statutory and client requirements.

• SAMTRAC certificate NQF level 5 with a minimum of 5 Years Construction industry experience OR
• Completed National Diploma in Safety Management with a minimum of 2 Years Construction industry experience
• Short Courses i.e. HIRA / Risk Assessment, RCAT / Incident Investigation, Fire Fighting, First Aid Level 1, Legal Liability.
• Must be registered with the South African Council for Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as a Construction Health and Safety Officer (CHSO) and have a valid good standing letter with the SACPCMP
• Currently residing within the Richards Bay surrounding area.
• Valid Code B drivers license held for a minimum of 3 years - learners licenses not accepted.

• Working Knowledge of HSEQ online - evidenced in CV
• Must be proficient at operating a computer - Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook etc.
• Must be able to converse in English and Zulu.
• Must be conversant in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Regulations 2014, COIDA Act, NEMA Act and all other relevant S.H.E. Legislation.
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and administrative ability
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and within a teamWillingness to work in a demanding, operational environment
• High level of integrity and professionalism
