Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator Job Description:
As a new Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator at Superior Skilled Trades, you can expect each day to be filled with excitement and challenges that will keep you engaged and motivated. You will be working on a Monday through Friday schedule from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime. Your daily responsibilities will include interpreting blueprints, measuring and cutting steel pieces with precision, and fitting them together using specialized welding techniques. Qualifications for Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator:
· A diverse set of skills that combine technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication. In addition to your knowledge and experience in the field, you will need to be familiar with various software and tools to ensure the successful completion of projects. Superior level layout and math skills will be essential in accurately interpreting blueprints and measuring steel pieces. You should have a complete understanding of pre-heat functions to ensure optimal welding performance.
· Proficiency in setting up and using a track torch is required to efficiently cut steel pieces to size. As part of our commitment to safety and quality, you must pass all tack tests for F.A.C.W. (Flux Core) welding and work in compliance with our safety policies and procedures.
· Flexibility is key in this role, as you must be willing to work any schedule required, including overtime and Saturdays as needed.
· Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE
· Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
· Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.

Unite Contracting is seeking experienced structural fitters in Harvey, Louisiana, working 10 hours daily, Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. No Per Diem for these structural fitter jobs. This construction site job is long-term, permanent work at a fabrication shop. Must pass a blueprint reading Test at the construction site. This is a permanent full-time job, and the salary depends on experience. Working at a fabrication shop in Harvey, Louisiana. A Structural Fitter should have experience in fitting using various metals and materials, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols, and no TWIC card is needed. The successful structural fitter or ship fitter construction candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, interpreting sketches, and using specialized tools to complete projects in a timely manner at the fabrication shop, working with a welder. We are looking for a construction fitter who is able to work independently and is highly motivated to produce quality work as a structural fitter. Structural Fitters at the fabrication site will be working with a welder daily. This is not an offshore job, but the items fabricated are going on an offshore rig.

We are presently seeking highly skilled and experienced personnel to work in our fast-paced production facility.

Successful applicants are required to be reliable, motivated, and possess the ability to work with limited supervision.
