DESCRIPTION
The System Engineer plays a crucial role in the Amazon Robotics deployment team. They oversee the installation, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment in new and existing fulfillment centers (FCs). This field engineering based position demands strong technical skills for deploying robotic equipment, including working with mechanical systems, electrical, configuring networking, and coordinating software systems. Ideal candidate have experience with complex electro-mechanical and network systems. They should also demonstrate leadership in leading the installation, maintenance, upgrades, or troubleshooting of these systems.
System engineers will work with a team of 1-5 engineers and collaborate with an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight on the installation of both third party and Amazon designed robotics equipment. These deployments require extensive collaboration with varies stakeholders, including third-party installers, contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, IT, and other partner teams. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with both internal and external partners and customers. As an Amazonian the candidate must demonstrate independent initiative to identify and solve problems in real time during deployments. They will also drive continuous improvement initiatives to avoid recurrences. This systems engineer position is a leadership role within the on site deployment teams. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully leading work scopes and making effective decisions
Systems engineers will be deploying the robotic systems in various phases of a product life cycle. When supporting new products, the candidate require to lead the development of process documentation and modifying the existing processes. Strong technical understanding, love for field work, and a keen interest in diving deep into the understanding of Amazon’s robotics systems are key attributes for this role. As an Amazonian, the ability to recognize process gaps and take ownership in developing solutions are important. Project duration can range from a few days to several months and include travel across the US. International work is available for candidates interested in pursuing. This position requires 75% travel. Valid US drivers’ license required.

Critical Skills:
Proficiency in reading, developing technical documentation, and writing process instructions
Experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, field-based construction or warehouse environment

Ability to oversee and resolve escalations during robotics deployment including quality hand-off, live order testing, site acceptance testing, operational readiness testing, monitoring system performance, etc.
Responsible for delivering projects by owning key performance indicators related to on-time delivery, cost, quality, safety, and sustainability
Understanding of data collection, reporting processes, and ability to make data-driven decisions.
Key job responsibilities
Support and guide installation of robotic technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers. The systems engineer develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of these systems both on site and remotely. The scopes vary significantly in length and include heavy travel to both live warehouses and new construction sites. The systems engineer will generate and implement continuous improvement ideas around their work-scopes and lead teams of other engineers on projects.

About the team
The Robotics Deployment Engineering team consists of the field deployment teams for Amazon's robotic warehouse systems. The teams travel frequently and work across overlapping projects to complete their deployment scopes and continuously improve our processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field.
3+ years’ working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.
2+ years’ experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models to resolve on-site clash issues using 3D clash detection reports.
2+ years working in a field setting including construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
1+ years’ experience with troubleshooting robotics systems or other complex mechanical-electrical or networked systems to resolve escalations including quality hand-off, live order testing, site acceptance testing, operational readiness testing, monitoring system performance, etc.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated Robotics Software Engineer to support our ongoing efforts in unmanned systems development. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ROS 2 and Linux-based development and will contribute to the design, integration, and testing of autonomous aerial systems. This position requires hands-on software development and system-level integration of hardware and software components.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain ROS 2 packages to support autonomy, navigation, and control of aerial robotic platforms.

Job Description
The Robotics Engineer – Software & Integrations will be a critical member of Greensea IQ’s multidisciplinary engineering team, with primary responsibility for the Bayonet Family of Products at our Plymouth, MA facility. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and integrating software into the Bayonet AUGV line of vehicles, RNAV family of systems, HANC Subsea Control System, and IQNS, ensuring production-ready deployment and robust system performance.
The engineer will lead the integration and testing of navigation, control, and embedded software systems on Bayonet products. They will collaborate closely with production technicians, software teams, and product managers, spending significant time in the field running and validating Bayonet systems.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the principal stakeholder for the integration of software on the Bayonet line of products in Plymouth, MA location
• Participate as a multidisciplinary engineering team member.
• Work closely with other software stakeholders, including the software Product Manager and software development team for Greensea’s defense software products, to land software successfully and reliably on the Bayonet production systems.
• Support production technicians in the production and commissioning of Bayonet Family systems.
• Design, analyze, develop, test, and integrate control and navigation software systems for unmanned vehicles and products.

Project/Unit Description
The Systems Engineering Branch of the Intelligent Sustainable Technologies Division (ISTD) at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is searching for a Robotics Engineer with experience in creating innovative automation solutions for both industry and Government efforts in domains ranging from biomanufacturing, warehouse automation, aircraft maintenance, and agriculture. Our group is looking for graduates in computer/electrical/mechanical engineering, robotics, computer science, or related fields specializing in systems integration, software development, and development of novel automation solutions. You will be joining a growing branch and division, and responsibilities may include research into rapid prototyping, systems integration, and software engineering.
The candidate should be self-motivated, have demonstrated programming skills, follow software engineering best practices, and have a strong mathematical foundation and problem-solving skills.

Job Purpose
A robotics engineer develops the hardware and/or software that enables electro-mechanical systems to perform a series of tasks with little or no human involvement. The robotics engineer can develop the mechanical mechanisms that form the robot, integrate sensors such as cameras and LIDAR systems into the system, or develop the algorithms to allow the robot or autonomous system to sense its environment, plan its actions, and then execute the plan. This position contributes to the fundamental and applied understanding of robotic and autonomous systems. The robotics researcher develops the advanced autonomous planning, coordination, perception and control algorithms that enable a mobile robot or team of robots to operate in dynamic environments. The engineer can also interface with perceptual, actuation, communication and other systems to enable the robot to sense, plan actions, coordinate actions according to mission plans and execute the plans. This position may incorporate a fundamental understanding of robotic control and path planning as well as an applied understanding of robotics systems.

This is a full-cycle, front-end development robotics role (simulation, scratch programming, integration, commissioning).
The right candidate has strong FANUC experience, has worked for an automation integrator, and is comfortable mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute robotics projects, from concept to implementation.
Oversee project budgets, labor hours, task lists, and timelines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Select and confirm appropriate robot models and options based on project specifications.
Create and validate offline robot programs (OLPs) and simulations (RoboGuide, RobotStudio, Process Simulate, etc.).
